SHUTCM: SHUTCM recognizes the two years of our DAOM program as equivalent to the first two years of their 3 year Ph.D. program. They require that interested students be enrolled concurrently in both the Ph.D. program at SHUTCM and the DAOM program at ATOM. Two short stays in Shanghai are required to work with a mentor and take a few classes develop and defend a Research Project. The first trip would occur in the second year of the DAOM program. The second trip would occur in May of the year following completion of the DAOM program and would involve defending a Dissertation in English. SHUTCM is working with us to provide mentors that teach in English and who match the student’s areas of interest. There are mentors available for both TCM and Acupuncture at this time.
BUCM: Beijing University of TCM recognizes one year of our DAOM program as equivalent to the first year of their 3 year Ph.D. program. Students interested in this program can be enrolled concurrently in both the Ph. D. program at BUCM and the DAOM program
at ATOM, or they may choose to enroll in the Ph.D. program at BUCM following completion of the DAOM program at ATOM. Students are expected to spend 2 weeks twice per year for 2 years at the Beijing campus working with their mentor, taking classes and following in the Clinic or the Hospital. The Research project is developed with the mentor and defended in English. BUCM is working with us to provide mentor that teach in English and who match the student’s areas of interest. There are mentors available for both TCM and Acupuncture at this time.
AHUTCM: Anhui University of Chinese Medicine recognizes at least one year of our DAOM program as equivalent to the first year of their 3 year Ph.D. program. Students in this program may begin working with their mentor while still completing the DAOM program at ATOM or wait to enroll in the Ph.D. program until after completing the DAOM program at ATOM. This is a more flexible program design, taught in English working with the needs of the individual student. A Research Project and Defense is required for graduation. Students have followed Dr. Jun Yang in pursuing this program. Dr. Yang is a well-received instructor in our DAOM program.
